Aitor, a Basque Pelota champion, dreams of being something else: he wants to be a star. His flamboyant personality and looks, as well as his exposure on social media and in front of the cameras, clash with the canon of masculine and discreet ‘pelotari’, something not well considered by his traditional environment. His biggest rival, neighbour and best friend Mikel, the classic "northern big boy", fits that ideal sportsman profile perfectly. Away from the spotlight and the looks of their neighbours, the two maintain since their teen days a secret relationship of sex and impossible romance that culminates in an argument during a final, after which they will separate their paths. In an environment of homophobia and toxic masculinity, both will have to face traumas and overcome prejudices to discover and define (and maybe express) who they are and what they want to do with their lives.
