Aliglow

Aliglow is a successful 22-year-old influencer who seems at the top of her career when, at the Idol Awards, she is crowned Influencer of the Year. However, her moment of glory and speech is interrupted by members of the squatted social centre ‘La Libertad’, who crash the gala to denounce Aliglow’s campaign to gentrify and build a luxury resort in Carabanchel, a working-class neighbourhood. Her career takes an irreversible turn.

Within hours, Aliglow is cancelled, unfollowed, and dumped by sponsors. Desperate to salvage her image, her agency enlists her in PEC (Emergency Protocol for Cancellations), a month-long rebranding boot camp disguised as social penance. The rules? Live in Carabanchel, adopt a politically correct lifestyle, and let a documentary crew capture every “unfiltered” moment.

For someone who’s made a living out of selling things she doesn’t believe in, playing the part of a humbled, socially-conscious citizen should be easy. However, Carabanchel isn’t buying it, and neither are its residents.

As the 30 days unfold, the line between performance and transformation starts to blur. Aliglow must balance her agency’s demands, the documentary’s narrative arc, a neighbourhood that isn’t afraid to call her bluff, and, most unexpectedly, the question of whether she even wants to return to the world that cast her out so easily.
